The manufacturer opened a department at its Hanover HQ in 2007 called Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Oldtimers, which has purchased and restored 100 vehicles for its own collection. The team is now offering restoration of historic Volkswagen commercial vehicles to customers, inclusive of detailed documentation of the work carried out.
The department moved to a new building in Hanover at the beginning of the year.
An area of 7000m² accommodates classic light commercials, a workshop and a 13-strong workforce including mechanics, a technology historian and an event planner.
