Fifty-five Volkswagen Transporter shuttles are providing a 'Home Connect' service nationwide for coach holiday company W A Shearings. Able to seat up to eight passengers they're being used to collect holidaymakers direct from their homes, take them to the coach departure point and return them at the end of their break.Powered by a 130hp 2.5-litre five-cylinder TDI diesel, each vehicle is fitted with air-conditioning, reading lights, roller blinds for the side windows and an electric nearside step. Satellite navigation plus a hands-free phone for the driver have been provided too.
All the Transporters were supplied through dealer The Volkswagen Van Centre in West Yorkshire and have been financed by Lloyds TSB Autolease.
