Fleet management and leasing company runyourfleet introduces an innovative cloud-based system with immediate success.

Fleet management company runyourfleet introduced a completely new cloud-based platform this year to immediate success. It picked up the Technology Award at the What Van? Awards 2022, as well as receiving a Highly Commended accolade in the Telematics category.

Initially aimed at the SME market, the business now caters for customers of all sizes, and serves over 1,200 businesses operating more than 27,000 vehicles across the UK. A simple subscription model allows customers to choose the level of fleet management service they need along with a range of add-ons, with self-service available online 24/7.

Accessed on a ‘software as a service’ basis, the new platform, developed by runyourfleet’s in-house software engineers to meet the specific needs of its customer base, allows businesses to access class-leading fleet management software without needing to make capital investments.

The functions available through the platform include the ability to add, edit, allocate and de-fleet vehicles, select from a range of breakdown services, and book vehicle servicing and MOTs. Users can also access MOT status and history and Road Fund Licence status and reminders directly from the DVLA, as well as perform and report DVLA licence checks.

The system allows managers to run reports and perform deep analysis on subjects such as spend, SMR, and breakdown history, and set instructions for every aspect of fleet management at account and vehicle level, allowing for maximum flexibility across fleets based on vehicle type and usage.

The platform allows secure cloud-based storage of key documents, and access to all runyourfleet-related documentation, including lease agreements, schedules, fines, and contract addendums. There’s also the facility to book a hire vehicle with delivery within two hours across the UK, on account, without any fuel deposits.

Despite the nature of its service allowing customers to leave at any time, runyourfleet achieved a customer retention rate of 99.8% over the past 12 months. The company has also helped customers with specific advice during the Covid-19 pandemic on matters such as promoting lower cost services and how to SORN vehicles not being used.

On the subject of telematics, runyourfleet’s offerings, runyourfleet connect and runyourfleet connect plus, are designed to help fleets deal with the amount of data available, and the need to decipher which information is relevant and take action when required. Vehicle fault data is constantly being monitored, with interventions made if a vehicle could break down or a service interval could be missed. The company’s connect plus service also adds tools such as full GPS data and full driver behaviour reporting.

Commenting on runyourfleet’s What Van? Award success, the company’s managing director, Steve Whitmarsh said: “The runyourfleet platform is what sets us apart from our competitors. It has been designed and developed in-house by our own team to meet the very demanding needs of more than 27,000 vehicles on a Service as a Software (SaaS) subscription basis.

“To be recognised in this way with such a prestigious award is a fantastic achievement for our team – these people are committed to developing the platform to include even more products and features soon.”

runyourfleet have a continous development cycle planned, including an exciting roadmap for future system enhancements as well as further team expansion.
