How long have you been working for the company?
About four years.
What is your job title?
I am a plumber. It’s a busy job because you’re always in demand. Despite the snow last week [at the time of writing] we still managed to do all the jobs required.
What do you do outside of work?
Not much. I shoot, but only clay pigeon as I wouldn’t want to shoot animals. I also like boxing.
What van do you drive at work?
It’s a Citroen Berlingo and it’s really good. I only had problems with it when it snowed!
What would your dream car be?
A 1966 Sport Mustang. I’ve always wanted one since I was a kid.
Do you have a favourite drive?
I’ve actually driven Route 66 in America. It was really wonderful!
What would be your perfect way to spend a weekend?
Just having a little barbecue in the summer with some friends in the sun.
What has Lightfoot changed about your driving?
It has definitely made me more aware when I’m accelerating at junctions because it ‘beeps’ when you press too hard. I am more conscientious now.
Did you find it hard to get used to?
Not particularly. I have been driving vans for twelve years now so I have been doing it for a while. But, without Lightfoot, you don’t realise how you’re pulling off quicker than you should be.
Do your colleagues get along well with it?
I would say that many of them are less patient than me. I’ve tried explaining it to them and suggesting they give it a chance and work with it – then it will start to pay off for them too.
If you could have any voice for Lightfoot who would it be?
What would you say to encourage another driver to use Lightfoot?
As a driver working for a fleet it covers you if there are any queries over where you’ve been or what you’ve done. In effect, it covers your back.
What prize did you get?
Dinner for two at The Shard. It’s an amazing prize, my girlfriend is very excited! Neither of us could believe it when we first found out!
"Lightfoot has given the drivers the tool to be ahead of their game and the encouragement to do well."
