2009 UK launch for Hyundai H300

Date: Friday, July 25, 2008

Korean manufacturer Hyundai is to re-enter the UK van market in the first quarter 2009 after an absence of seven years with an LCV version of its i800 people-carrier.

Already on sale in mainland Europe and Eire, and badged as the H300, the as yet un-named newcomer will be powered by a 2.5-litre common rail turbodiesel rated at either 116hp or 132hp.

The rear-wheel drive van will be available in one wheelbase and one roof height and will come with a five-speed manual gearbox and twin sliding side doors as standard. Side-hinged symmetrical doors will feature at the rear.

Ventilated disc brakes are fitted all-round, ABS will be a standard fitment and there's a distinct possibility that ESP will also be included.
