Canter plays the long game at Kestrel

Date: Tuesday, June 17, 2008

An extra-long Mitsubishi Canter Fuso 7C18 7.5-tonner has gone into service with Birmingham-based Kestrel Aluminium Systems.
Canter's longest standard wheelbase is 4,470mm, but Kestrel asked local company Major Minor Bodies to extend it to 5,050mm and equip the chassis with a seven-metre curtainsider body.

Kestrel specialises in the supply of aluminium extrusions and accessories from its factory in Aston. They're used for the fabrication of everything from shop fronts to glazed roofs.

Some of them are over six metres long; hence the need for the extra-long body. The vehicle was supplied through dealer Gerard Mann Commercials.
