Hyundai makes a return to UK van market

Korean manufacturer Hyundai is returning to the British light commercial market with a European-style medium-weight panel van designed to tackle the established players head-on.

With models such as VW’s Transporter and Ford’s short-wheelbase Transit firmly in its sights, the rear-wheel-drive iLoad is powered by a 116bhp 2.5-litre common rail diesel engine. A sliding door on each side of the cargo box comes as standard and the three-man cab features a gear shift mounted on the dashboard.

Equipment levels and the warranty look set to be generous as Hyundai seeks to re-establish itself in what is now a brutally-competitive sector of the business. The newcomer was about to go on sale at the time of writing.
