Vauxhall Vivaro may not get 2014 CV Show launch

Date: Tuesday, June 25, 2013

Vauxhall can not yet confirm it will unveil its next generation Vivaro at the 2014 Commercial Vehicle Show because it needs to co-ordinate the launch of the medium van with Renault, the manufacturer of its sibling product, the new Renault Trafic.
The current generation of both Vivaro and Trafic are built at Vauxhall’s Luton plant together with a smaller number of Nissan Primestars.
The vast majority of the second generation Vivaro models for Vauxhall, in the UK, and Opel, across the rest of Europe, will continue to be assembled in Luton but Renault will move Trafic production to its factory in Sandouville, France where it will also make the high-roofed derivative of the Vivaro, which accounts for just 2% of sales.
Steve Bryant, Vauxhall’s commercial vehicle brand manager, admitted no date had so far been set for the 2014 launch of the Vivaro but he added: “We are aiming for the CV Show.”
