Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has launched an initiative to give wider choice to used van customers.

Das WeltAuto is designed to give used buyers the same options that are available to new van buyers and to make it easier for customers to choose the right vehicle.

Benefits of the programme include a full history check, 12-months warranty and roadside assistance, vehicle data and mileage checks and a 30-day exchange or return policy. The sheme is available to customers through VW’s network of more than 100 dedicated Van Centres.

Andy Waite, sales boss for VW CVs, claimed: “What sets Das WeltAuto apart from other used vehicle schemes is that it takes into consideration the complete buying experience and the importance of a flexible package to meet customers’ requirements.”

In order to broaden customer choice, Waite said any CV, whether a VW or not, which has under 100,000 miles on the clock can now be sold as a Das WeltAuto van so long as it achieves the required standards.

For each van included in the scheme, the retailing Van Centre will suggest a number of approved accessories to enhance the vehicle, such as alloy wheel upgrades, parking sensors, cruise control, satellite navigation or Bluetooth / iPod connectivity.  The prices shown will include VAT and fitting costs.

VW said customers would be able to trade in their current vehicle, irrespective of age or mileage.
