Toyota has unveiled the AT35 version of its new Hilux pick-up, the latest conversion by off-road specialists Arctic Trucks.

The AT35 is based on the regular 2.8-litre Invincible X Double Cab model, but features extensive modifications.

The AT35 has had its ground clearance increased by 65mm, and approach and departure angles increased by nine and three degrees respectively.

The vehicle’s frame, inner arches and bodywork have been re-engineered, and 17in Arctic Trucks alloy wheels with 35in BF Goodrich KO2 All-Terrain tyres have been fitted.

An updated Arctic Trucks Bilstein performance suspension system, featuring front springs and dampers, anti-roll bar adjustment and rear dampers with extended shackles, has been fitted, producing an extra 40mm of front and 20mm of rear suspension lift, and the front and rear differentials have been re-geared with the aim of optimising torque and drivability.

In addition, the truck gets a rear height bar with an integrated two-inch receiver hitch, designed for quick and easy deployment of tow balls, winches, steps, gear carriers or other accessories.

Styling features include Arctic Trucks’ signature flare package for the front and rear wings, extended-profile side steps, AT35 badging and a 30th anniversary decal. Each vehicle comes with an individual Arctic Trucks certificate of authenticity.

A range of fully-fitted Arctic Trucks options is also available, including full underbody armour, a Vision X grille-mounted light bar, and a Truxedo low-profile load cover. The tyres can also be upgraded to BF Goodrich KM3 Mud-Terrain spec, and an onboard inflation/deflation kit can be installed, with a 12V performance compressor mounted in the engine bay.

All conversion features are carried out by Arctic Trucks technicians to original manufacturer standards, maintaining Toyota’s five-year/100,000-mile new vehicle warranty. The model is fully type approved and retains commercial vehicle status, with no reduction in payload or towing capacity.

The AT35 is available to order now from Toyota dealers as a conversion for the regular Hilux, and it is priced at £18,780 plus VAT.
