Supermarket chain Tesco is adding 750 Maxus eDeliver 9 vans to its fleet.

The deal is said to be the largest single electric vehicle order to date for distributor Harris Maxus UK.

The chassis cab eDeliver 9s will be equipped with Solomon-designed and built bodywork, with refrigeration systems from Thermo King and GAH.

Deliveries will begin from February 2026, with the new vans joining 232 eDeliver 9s already entering service this year.

Tesco fleet services operations manager Rob Smallwood said: “Our electric home delivery fleet is an important part of our journey to carbon neutrality across our operations.

“Placing this order with Harris Maxus UK will help us on our journey to operating a fully electric home delivery fleet by 2030.

“Our partnership with Harris Maxus UK, which began with an innovative electric concept vehicle in 2019, has grown in strength and proven the capability and reliability of the eDeliver 9 to help decarbonise our delivery operations.”

Harris Maxus UK sales director Bill Laidlaw said: “We are fully committed to supporting Tesco as it works towards its goal of establishing its zero-emissions fleet.

“Our eDeliver 9 has consistently demonstrated its capability to meet Tesco’s operational needs, delivering a productive and reliable solution since 2019.

“We’ve nurtured a robust relationship with Tesco, built on mutual trust and shared sustainability objectives. We’re focused on a principle of close collaboration to help Tesco achieve its environmental targets and we’re excited about developing the partnership in the years to come.”
