Used versions of Ford's new Transit have come under the hammer in a special auction held at BCA's Nottingham site.Over 120 buyers attended the Ford closed sale and 83 light commercials were offered direct from the manufacturer. Every one of them found a home.
An 0606 registered diesel Transit 430 140 bhp 17-seater minibus went for £19,100 — the top price of the day — while an 0606 260 short-wheelbase standard roof 85 bhp 2.2-litre TDCI diesel van sold for £11,350. A 350 long-wheelbase high roof 140 bhp 2.4-litre TDCI diesel van of the same vintage went for £16,250.
“It was a strong debut for the latest version of the UK's favourite van,” says Ford re-marketing manager, Paul Bolton. “Bidding was strong on every example offered,” says BCA's UK business development manager, commercial vehicles, Duncan Ward.
