FORS, the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, is attracting the attention of the LCV sector as more and more van operators see the commercial benefits in running a safer, more efficient and more environmentally protective fleet as a consequence of FORS membership.

FORS, therefore, is delighted to be associated with the What Van? Awards – the industry’s premier awards event – as sponsor of the Safety Award.

With safety at its heart, FORS is a voluntary, best practice scheme dedicated to raising the standards of van operations at operators’ premises, but more especially on the road.

Through best practice, van fleets of any size can look forward to tangible benefits, including improved fuel efficiency, fewer Penalty Charge Notices, a reduction in downtime, and improved driver retention. Crucially, with increasing numbers of contractors and specifiers insisting their transport suppliers operate with FORS membership, van operators will place themselves in the shop window for the next lucrative job.

FORS has just released its latest FORS Standard (version 4.0), the compendium of FORS information surrounding management, vehicles, drivers and operations. FORS Standard 4.0 is the clearest, most user-friendly version of the standard, containing the strongest environmental credentials to date.

It follows hot on the heels of the new FORS-online website – www.fors-online.org.uk – a completely redesigned site accessible on all devices and platforms, boasting improved navigation, more interaction and an all-round engaging user-journey.
