Big fleet order for Mitsubishi Fuso Canter

Civil engineering and construction group Daniel Contractors has acquired 44 Mitsubishi Fuso Canter 7.5-tonners to service a contract it has with Welsh Water.

All tippers bodied either by Lancashire Tippers or Stag Commercial Bodies, some are fitted with large, lockable toolboxes. The operator has also invested heavily in Axtec on-board weight monitoring equipment to guard against overloading.

Based in depots across Wales the newcomers are being used by crews maintaining and repairing water mains throughout the principality.

“The Canter gives us an exceptional payload of close to four tonne yet it's also very compact and highly manoeuvrable,” says Daniel's head of plant and transport, Bob Norris.

The fact that Canters are sold through and supported by Mercedes-Benz truck dealers doesn't hurt either.

All the 7.5-tonners were sourced through Mercedes dealer Enza. It's based in Warrington, where Daniel Contractors has its headquarters.
