Relay glass vans go way out west

Date: Sunday, April 13, 2008

Glass-carrying vans kitted out by Supertrucks under Citroën's Ready to Run programme are going into service with glazier Cornwall Glass & Glazing.

The largest order the scheme has generated to date for Supertrucks, it's involved the St Helens-based company equipping the vehicles — all L3H2 120hp 3.5-tonners — with side-mounted external full-height, full-length glass-carrying alloy racks plus full-length roof racks. Twin glass racks are fitted inside and the vans have been delivered with both internal and external glass securing poles.

Internal storage facilities have been specified for tools and other equipment and the exterior alloy racking has been powder-coated in yellow to match the van's own paint finish.

Supplied through Citroën dealer Barclays of Warrington, the Relays will stay in service for six years and cover around 120,000 miles apiece.

Cornwall Glass has a 12-strong depot network covering Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Wiltshire.
