VW strikes exclusive London supply deal with Budget UK

Budget UK has chosen Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles as the sole supplier for its new van rental service in London.
The service, which is aimed at both business and private customers, began operating at the beginning of April in the capital with 100 Transporter vans.
Throughout the course of 2015 VW will also supply an additional 300 Transporters and 100 Caddy vans to Budget for use in its nationwide network.
All of the vans are current generation models that will go into service before VW launches its replacement Caddy and Transporter ranges later this year.
Budget UK said it selected Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles as its preferred partner due to the brand’s strong residual values and the desirability of the brand.
Mark Servodidio, managing director, Northern Europe, Avis Budget Group, said the launch of the rental service in London would give operators an alternative to purchasing their vans.
“We’re confident the new service, which will offer small and medium businesses across the capital a truly flexible and cost-efficient alternative to a permanent fleet of vehicles, will further strengthen our position as a partner to London’s businesses using Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles,” he said.
