The Hendy Group has appointed David Graham to head up the Hendy Ford Transit Centre branch of its business following a period of growth.

Graham – who has been with the dealership firm for seven years and moves from his role as commercial sales manager – will be responsible for the Transit Centre hubs in Southampton, Portsmouth, Horsham, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Redhill.

Hendy Group claims its Transit Centre team sells more new Ford commercial vehicles than any retail dealership in the UK, and last year grew its retail registrations by 25%.

Despite the branding, the Transit Centres actually sell commercial Ford vehicles, such as vans and pick-ups, and provide additional support services such as mobile servicing, MOTs, tyres and parts. The division counts businesses of all types among its customers, from plumbers and decorators to housing associations and alarm companies.

Hendy’s CV and fleet sales director Steve Roberts said: “We’ve seen real growth in this side of the business over recent years, due in no small part to the success of the sales team. They do a fantastic job, as is evident in the great feedback from our customers.”

“With such high demand for our commercial services, the appointment of David as group Transit Centre franchise manager will help us to ensure we continue to deliver the same award-winning service, no matter how big we grow.”

Commenting on his new position, Graham said: “One of the most rewarding parts of my job over the last few years has been seeing our customers grow their businesses thanks to the vehicles we sell them. I’m looking forward to seeing more of these success stories in my new position, as well as working to develop our already highly regarded sales team.”
