Volkswagen is to launch a special edition of its Amarok pick-up truck in May of this year.

Badged the ‘Dark Label’, the model will cost from £33,650, excluding VAT, and is available to order now (from 17 January).

Based on the flagship Highline trim, the Dark Label will be powered by VW’s 3.0-litre V6 204hp engine mated to the brand’s eight-speed automatic transmission.

The special edition will feature 18-inch alloy wheels, matt black mirror housings, black door handles and a black rear bumper. Standard paint is grey metallic, which complements side bars and a rear styling bar finished in matt black, but two other colours, black and an alternative grey, are available as options.

Underbody styling and Dark Label decals complete the exterior design package.

The interior is finished in black and chrome and both front seats are equipped with manual lumbar adjustment. The footwells are adorned with Dark Label floor mats.

Volkswagen has included its Discover Media with 6.33-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard and the model also gets rain-sensing windscreen wipers, automatic headlight control with coming home and leaving function, and power adjustable, heated and folding door mirrors.
