Customers can get £1,000 off a new Caddy

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced an extension of its scrappage scheme, which gives drivers money off a new van when they trade in an older, more polluting model.

Under the scheme, diesel vehicles that pre-date Euro 5 emissions legislation can be traded in for between £1,000 and £2,000 off a new Euro 6-compliant model.

The scheme was previously due to end on 31 December 2017, but VW now says it can be applied to vans ordered by 31 March, and registered before 30 June.

There is a possible scrappage scheme saving of £1,000 on a new Caddy Panel Van and Caddy Life, £2,000 on a new Transporter Panel Van or Kombi, and £2,000 on a new Crafter.

The customer needs to have owned the trade-in vehicle for at least six months, and the vehicle must have been registered before 1 January 2010.

The offer is only available on retail orders.
