VW has pulled the covers off a concept van that combines surfer style with electric power.
The I.D Buzz Cargo follows last year’s I.D Buzz Campervan concept, itself inspired by the classic VW Campers of the 1950s and ’60s.
This concept is said to be capable of a range of more than 340 miles and features a fully autonomous mode – making it capable of transporting itself to its next destination.
A 230V socket provides power for tools with no additional generator, and a large solar roof is capable of extending the van’s range by up to nine miles.
VW claims the vehicle – minus the autonomy – could be put into production as early as 2021.
