A building supplier has moved to replace its van fleet with 12 new Iveco Dailys.

The deal agreed by 1st Choice Tool & Plant Hire is for two 3.5t panel vans, and eight 3.5t and two 7.2t chassis cabs.

Supplied by Iveco Retail in Hayes, five of the 3.5t chassis cabs are fitted with dropside bodies and mesh tail-lifts by Ingimex, while the remaining three and the two 7.2t vehicles have plant bodies built by Shawtrack.

The 3.5t vehicles come with 2.3-litre, 136hp engines, while the 7.2t vehicles come with 3.0-litre 180hp engines.

The vehicles will deliver construction tools and machinery to customers in London and across the south east of England.

Each will clock up around 35,000 miles a year and remain in service until 2023.

Rob Cox, managing director at 1st Choice, said: “We need a rugged vehicle that can handle our day-to-day work, especially as we transport diggers, dumpers and even 3.0-tonne excavators.

“Iveco proved to us that the Daily is more than up to the task and the whole package they offered made it a no brainer."
