Rhino steps up at Hannover show

Rhino Products, a manufacturer of commercial vehicle accessories including roof racks, roof bars, access steps and ladder restraints, is showcasing two products at this year’s IAA commercial vehicles show in Hannover, Germany.

The products include the firm’s ImpactStep, which is being shown in Europe for the first time. It will be viewed via an interactive display that will demonstrate the protection the step provides against parking and loading impacts by imitating the motion of the step colliding with a bollard – it absorbs the shock by partially retracting – when a button on the display is pressed by a visitor to the show.

A major product announcement is Connect+, Rhino’s new system for integrating OEM reverse-parking sensors into its range of rear access van steps in a way that doesn’t, as was previously the case, involve complicated rewiring and specialist knowledge, plus added time and expenditure.

The product overcomes these issues with what the company describes as a simple ‘plug and play’ cable system, which “offers a fast and easy fitting process”.

It is currently available for the company’s SafeStep, TowStep and TowStep Duo ranges, which will also be on show in Hannover, and is compatible with most of Europe’s leading commercial vehicles.

The Hannover event takes place on 20-27 September 2018.
