Upgraded Nissan Navara announced

Nissan has made a series of revisions to its Navara pick-up truck.

Among the changes is an upgrade to the 163hp 2.3-litre diesel engine, which is now fitted with two turbochargers, similar to the 190hp diesel that is also available.

This means the 163hp engine’s torque output is up by 22Nm to 425Nm, while both engines now comply with the Euro6d-Temp emission standard.

A new six-speed manual gearbox, with longer ratios and a shorter shift pattern, has also been introduced.

Nissan has also upgraded the Navara’s brakes, replacing the previous rear drum brakes with discs and fitting larger front discs.

Multi-link rear suspension is now fitted to the King Cab variant, making it standard for the full Navara range.

There’s also a payload increase of up to 46kg depending on spec.

The Nissan Connect infotainment system is now standard from N-Connecta grade up, featuring an 8in touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and smartphone integration, which allows drivers to locate the vehicle, lock and unlock it, check fuel and fluid levels, and programme the satnav remotely.

Trailer sway assist is now incorporated into the whole range, and exterior upgrades include new 17in and 18in alloy wheel designs and new black bezel inlays for the LED headlamps.

The revised Navara goes on sale in July. Range prices excluding VAT start at £21,850 for a King Chassis Cab Visia manual, and rise as high as £31,125 for a Double Cab N-Guard automatic.
