Vauxhall has supplied 290 vans to be used as mobile workshops by maintenance engineers working for the country’s largest housing association.

The vans have been delivered to Clarion Response – the maintenance arm of Clarion Housing – at the start of a four-year sole supplier deal.

The bulk of the initial fleet is made up of 237 Vivaro panel vans in L2 H1 2900 Sportive spec, with 1.6-litre, 125hp diesel engines.

The rest of the order comprises 34 Vivaro L2 H2 2900 panel vans, and 19 Combo Cargo L2 H1 2300 Sportive vans.

The vans were supplied in collaboration with The Procurement Partnership, the Imperial Group dealer service and SG Fleet, and converted by Bri-Stor Systems, who fitted a customised racking system with storage boxes, cabinets and tilt bins.

Clarion Response fleet manager Colin Hutt said: “We chose Vauxhall because of the quality and value of their vehicles and the commitment and support they were able to offer us in supplying and rolling out these vehicles into our fleet. “Working with SG Fleet we’ve also been able to ensure that all the new Vauxhall vans will be carbon neutral thanks to a carbon off-setting scheme. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Vauxhall.”
