LCVT supplies bespoke traffic sign transporters

Body builder LCVT has supplied two bespoke 3.5t transporters to SRL Traffic Systems.
The vehicles will be used to deploy traffic messaging signs, with SRL having approached LCVT to design a vehicle which could deliver both its larger variable message signs and its smaller smart messenger units quickly and safely.
The two vehicles, which can accommodate two larger or three smaller units, or a combination of both, are based on the latest Euro 6D 140hp Fiat Ducato drivetrain.
They have innovative features including a low frame chassis conversion, which has allowed a longer wheelbase to be fitted, and a lower deck height than could be achieved with a conventional chassis cab.
The floor of the vehicle features LCVT’s perforated aluminium plank, designed to deliver high levels of grip when loading and unloading, and there’s a full width spring-assisted tailgate with a punched textured GRP mesh.
