Most van buyers could go electric next, but lack information, survey finds

More than four-fifths of van buyers could go electric with their next purchase, according to a survey by Vanarama.

It found 83% of its customers would consider an electric van as their business’s next commercial vehicle.

However, 90% of those surveyed said they did not know enough about electric vans to fully commit.

Vanarama therefore says it will be sharing educational content on social media to mark World EV Day, on 9 September.

It has also announced a scheme to provide EV leasing customers with free home charge points, in partnership with Charged EV.

Vanarama head of EV and LCV Paul Kirby said: “We’re delighted to be a founding partner of World EV Day. For us it’s all about giving our customers a seat at the table and help give them a voice.

“It’s clear they’re interested in electric vans but need more information to make the transition.

“World EV Day will help us do exactly that and open up a dialogue about EVs which is only going to increase in the years to come.”
