Renault has appointed a new approved supplier for ‘off-the-shelf’ conversions of Master Luton vans and low-loader Luton vans.

TruckCraft Bodies will build the conversions at its Manchester facility, which has 60 bays.

The conversions, based on the Master chassis cab and platform cab, will be available via Renault dealerships and will cost from £31,780 for the Luton Box and £35,530 for the Low Loader (excluding VAT).

The Renault Master Luton Box LL35 is available with front- or rear-wheel drive and is powered by a 130hp 2.3-litre diesel engine, which is paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. The conversion has a payload of up to 1,175kg and features load lock rails, lashing points, load area lighting, Luton head storage, rear step and a rear roller shutter as standard.

The Low Loader version is front-wheel drive. Customers have a choice of two 2.3-litre engines: the dCi 135 and the Energy dCi 150. Both come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a six-speed automatic is available on the more powerful unit. With a payload of 1,250kg and a loading height of only 550mm, it’s designed for removal businesses. It comes with the same features as the Luton Box van, but has barn doors instead of a shutter.

Both models are supplied with the Business equipment grade, which has DAB radio, Bluetooth, automatic headlights and wipers, remote central locking, electric windows and hill start assist.

Renault ‘Off the shelf’ conversions come with the same three-year/100,000-mile warranty as a regular Renault Pro+ panel van.

For more bespoke conversions, Renault has a network of 30 convertors who are accredited under the manufacturer’s Pro+ ‘Tailor Made’ scheme.

Stephen Whitcombe, head of brand for Renault Pro+ Commercial Vehicles, said: “TruckCraft Bodies has already proved to be a highly valued partner for our accredited ‘Tailor Made’ convertor programme and we are pleased to now extend the relationship to include the build of two of our most popular ‘Off the shelf’ conversions.

“The scale and expertise of its operation, plus the quality of its work, ensures that ‘Off the shelf’ conversion customers continue to enjoy the benefits of specialised light commercial vehicles combined with the convenience of easy ordering and the peace-of-mind that the entire vehicle is covered by a comprehensive manufacturer warranty.”

Paul Leary, founder and MD of TruckCraft Bodies, said: “We are exceptionally pleased to be a part of the successful Renault ‘Off the shelf’ conversion programme. The manufacturer’s confidence in our conversions, team and capacity recognises our commitment to delivering quality products and our focus on customer service. We are looking forward to strengthening our partnership with Groupe Renault UK and providing customers with some of the best light commercial vehicles available in the UK.”
