Date: Thursday, July 16, 2020

Vauxhall has confirmed full details of its new Vivaro-e electric van.

The model, which comes with a 136hp electric motor, will be available with a choice of two battery sizes: 50kWh, which allows 144 miles of range on a WLTP cycle with a half payload; and 75kWh, which allows a range of 205 miles.

Rapid 100kW charging capability comes as standard, allowing a zero to 80% charge in 32 minutes for the 50kWh battery and 48 minutes for the 75kWh battery.

The Vivaro-e based on the same platform as the regular Vivaro, has a payload of up to 1,226kg, and is capable of towing up to one tonne.

It comes in two sizes – L1H1 and L2H2 – and with a choice of either panel van or double cab bodystyles.

There is also a choice of two trim levels, with Dynamic and Elite specs on offer.

Standard equipment with Dynamic includes driver and front passenger airbags, a full-height steel bulkhead, a six-way adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and armrest, a 7in infotainment touchscreen, rear parking distance sensors, cruise control, and automatic wipers and lights.

Connected services are also available via the MyVauxhall app, including remote charging control and cabin temperature pre-conditioning.

Further equipment with Elite trim includes a FlexCargo load-through bulkhead, a fold-flat centre seat backrest, sat-nav, a head-up display, a reversing camera, front fog lights, LED DRLs, lane departure warning, side blind spot alert, semi-adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, front parking sensors and 17in alloy wheels.

Orders for the Vivaro-e are set to open this month, with the first deliveries in October.

Prices start at £27,723, excluding VAT and including the government’s £8,000 plug-in vehicle grant.
