Media company Sky has added 11 Renault Kangoo Z.E. electric vans to its fleet.

The vans are Sky’s first fully electric commercial vehicles, and will help the company to evaluate how wider parts of its fleet – which currently includes more than 4,000 diesel vans – could be electrified, as part of its target to have net zero emissions by the end of the decade.

The vans will be used by Sky’s facilities teams for duties such as cleaning, decorating, catering, and mail distribution, and have been given a special livery highlighting their environmental credentials.

The vans will be charged using renewable energy sources at on-site charge points.

Sky senior fleet operations manager, supply chain operations, Oliver Wanklyn, said: “These Renault Kangoo Z.E. vans take us another step closer towards our commitment to be net zero carbon by 2030. We’re very excited to introduce them and see them out on the road.

“With the unique livery that details their 100% electric power they’ll be highly visible to the public, helping us to drive awareness of Sky Zero and importantly, inspiring others to go zero with Sky.”
