Supermarket giant Tesco is adding 645 Iveco Daily vans to its home delivery fleet during 2021.

An initial 45 vans, supplied by Guest Truck & Van, joined the fleet in February, with a further 600 due to arrive during the rest of the year.

Around 900 Dailys are on Tesco’s existing fleet, with more than 5,000 in total spent time on the fleet since 2010.

The vans are in 35S14 Hi-Matic spec, and painted in white with additional Tesco livery and branding. They feature a 136hp, 2.3-litre diesel engine, and eight-speed automatic transmission.

Before entering service, converter Solomon Commercials is fitting the vans with its low-height Slipstream body for 3.5t vehicles, including fridge units to keep groceries at the required temperature.

Iveco UK business-line director Mike Cutts said: “Supermarkets like Tesco have been especially important over the past pandemic-gripped year, adapting to meet incredible demands and Iveco are ideally placed to be able to support and continue this mission.”
