Peel Ports has added four electric Maxus P90 pick-up trucks to its fleet via its leasing partner Activa.

The vehicles are for use by the ports’ security service, run in conjunction with and staffed by the police.

The vehicles are said to offer advantages including reduced emissions and lower operating costs.

Peel Ports group head of asset management Malcolm Oliver-White said: ”We are thrilled to announce our latest investment in electric vehicles. These police vehicles align perfectly with our environmental responsibility goals and demonstrates our commitment to a more sustainable future.

“We believe that by integrating the police electric pickup trucks into our fleet, we can set an example for others in our industry and contribute to a cleaner environment."

Activa sales resource manager Russell Horscroft said: “We are delighted to be able to support Peel Ports. Knowing these vehicles we have supplied are part of a larger sustainability initiative reinforces our commitment to the business and we look forward to taking on more vehicles and running the account for Peel Ports.”
