The DC100, created by the manufacturer’s design team led by Gerry McGovern, is set to indicate the future direction of the rugged off-roader.
Land Rover has confirmed a new version of the Defender will arrive in production form in 2015.
McGovern said: “Replacing the iconic Defender is one of the biggest challenges in the automotive design world, it inspires people worldwide. This isn’t a production-ready concept but the beginning of a four year journey to design a relevant Defender for the 21st century.”
John Edwards, Land Rover’s global brand director, said the manufacturer would “engage with existing and potential customers to help us finalise the details of the new vehicle”.
