The most common motivation for van drivers switching to electric vans is to help protect the environment, according to Peugeot research.
A survey for the manufacturer found that 76% of drivers said the environment was a motivating factor in going electric, ahead of driving pleasure (63%), the price of energy (60%), and customer offers (43%).
According to Peugeot, the research also showed that van drivers were carrying out environmentally friendly practices in their everyday lives, with 78% saying their lifestyle choices are impacted by the desire to be more sustainable.
Peugeot UK managing director Eurig Druce said: “Contrary to what many may believe, our research shows van drivers are among the most eco-conscious members of society.
“Whether it’s adopting eco-friendly driving habits, ditching single-use plastics or choosing an all-electric van, it’s clear that sustainability is at the forefront of van drivers’ choices.”
