Luxury London department store Harrods has added a Nissan E-NV200 to its fleet.
The all-electric van has been modified by Vic Young Conversions to fit in with Harrods’ delivery needs, with the loadspace featuring a refrigeration unit, freezer, chiller and shelving units to allow for fresh groceries to be transported in optimum conditions.
In addition, the exterior of the van has been wrapped in Harrods’ famous green and gold colours to make it stand out around London. “It’s wonderful to see an electric Harrods van on the roads of London. As one of Britain’s largest established department stores, we are committed to reducing our carbon emissions and mitigating our environmental footprint,” said Guy Cheston, media sales director at Harrods.
This isn’t the first time the luxury Knightsbridge store has used electric vans. In 1919, Harrods used solid-tyred American Walker electric vans, later building a fleet of 60 EVs to deliver goods to local customers.
