The majority will be equipped with Shawtrack’s own 6m low-profile beavertail bodies while the balance will be bodied as twin-deck car transporters. Shawtrack’s Beavertail body features a 4,000kg electric winch, rope hooks and lashing rings, 22mm composite flooring, lightweight alloy ramps and twin working lights on the headboard.
One reason for choosing the Isuzus is their payload potential of almost 4.0 tonnes, says Shawtrack . It believes this will appeal to its rental customers in the plant hire industry.
Elsewhere, recovery vehicle fleet Turners of Sedgefield, County Durham, has just acquired a second Isuzu, an N75.190 with a crew cab, having decided to switch its entire truck replacement programme over to the marque. Supplied through dealer Protruck Commercial Services, the 7.5-tonner is equipped with a slideback recovery body manufactured by David Bland.
With a depot in Darlington as well as Sedgefield, Turners runs a 30-strong fleet.
