Iveco is offering a five-year, 100,000 mile warranty to retail customers who buy its new Daily van from their local dealerships.
The initiative applies to purchases of up to five vans per customer and is targeted at small businesses and owner/drivers looking to renew or expand their fleets. It will not extend to large fleets such as Royal Mail, said a spokesman, even if they were to place an order not exceeding five vans. Iveco will continue to offer large fleets its standard three year, unlimited mileage warranty.
Iveco UK boss Claudio Zanframundo said: “New Daily is currently the only van in its class available with a five year warranty. It’s a reflection of our confidence in this third generation model range, which is the result of a $700m (£433m) investment.”
The five-year warranty offer applies to all 2014 model year new Daily vans and is valid until 31 December. Retail customers who exceed 20,000 miles a year will be able to opt for the manufacturer’s three year, unlimited mileage warranty and, as part of the limited time offer, they will receive three years free servicing with an Iveco Elements service contract.
While Iveco claimed its five-year warranty is a first for large panel vans, Isuzu and Mitsubishi already offer similar deals on their respective pick-up trucks, the D-max and L200.
