Maxus importer the Harris Group has appointed Sean Smith to the newly created role of head of fleet for Maxus UK.
As part of a strategy to raise its profile in the fleet sector across the UK, Harris Maxus has also taken on three regional fleet sales managers who will report to Smith. Maxus says the new team will support its fleet operation while maintaining close links with its expanding UK dealer network.
The group says that in the new role, Smith will spearhead the development of a comprehensive fleet function for Maxus UK, establishing centralised support systems for major fleet customers while ensuring both big fleets and SMEs receive a service tailored to their needs.
With more than two decades of experience in the LCV sector, Smith has previously worked with the Nissan, Isuzu and Renault franchised networks as well as in vehicle testing and development at Horiba MIRA, the automotive engineering and test facility.
Through the creation of a dedicated fleet department Maxus says it aims to build stronger brand awareness and strengthen its residual value position. By sharing product intelligence and used-market data with residual value setters, Smith plans to ensure Maxus is more consistently benchmarked against established competitors to inspire greater confidence among funders and fleet operators.
Smith said: “I’m delighted to be joining Harris Maxus UK at such a transformational moment in the brand’s development. The company has achieved a remarkable growth trajectory recently and we now have the opportunity to accelerate this success through tactical focus, dedicated fleet expertise and targeted major customer engagement.
“This represents an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of our commercial vehicle fleet business.”
