Mercedes-Benz is making cleaner engines available with its Vito van from next month.
The engines are now Euro 6c compliant – the previous powerplants were Euro 6b.
The Vito panel and crew van ranges will now consist of rear-wheel drive models, with 2.1-litre diesel engines with 136, 163 or 190hp.
With the panel van, the two least powerful units come with manual or automatic transmission, and the 190hp is auto as standard, while with the crew van only the least powerful engine comes with the choice, and the more powerful two are auto only.
A front-wheel drive Vito will then rejoin the range from September, powered by a 102hp diesel engine.
Meanwhile the passenger carrying Vito Tourer is getting Euro 6d-Temp compliant engines from next month – 1.95-litre diesels with the same outputs as those in the rear-wheel drive van, with automatic transmission only.
As well as the engine changes, from next month Vitos will also get Mercedes Pro Connect as standard, offering free vehicle management services for three years.
