Dacia has unveiled a new LCV version of its Duster SUV.
Badged the Duster Cargo, it is a successor to previous Duster Commercial models.
The Duster Cargo is created via a full factory conversion which replaces the rear seats of the SUV with a flat wooden load floor, a mesh bulkhead, four lashing points, a full-length removable load cover, and opaque rear windows.
The resulting load space measures 1,149 litres, and there is a 430kg payload.
Two engine options are available – a 155hp full hybrid, which pairs a petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.4kWh battery, and a 130hp petrol mild hybrid. The latter comes with four-wheel drive and Dacia’s new 4×4 Terrain Control system, offering a choice of five modes to match prevailing conditions, and Adaptive Hill Descent Control. The model has 217mm of ground clearance.
Braked towing weights are 750kg for the full hybrid, and 1,500kg for the mild hybrid. Combined fuel economy figures are 59mpg and 46.3mpg respectively.
A single Expression trim level is on offer, with standard equipment including 17in alloy wheels, LED lights, roof bars, air conditioning, a six-way adjustable driver’s seat, a 7in driver display, and a 10.1in infotainment screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity.
Driver assistance systems include rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, cruise control with speed limiter, traffic sign recognition with speed alert and intelligent speed assist, driver attention warning, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, an advanced emergency braking system, and hill start assist.
Orders for the Duster Cargo are open now. Prices excluding VAT are £22,995 for the mild hybrid and £23,595 for the full hybrid.
The first customer deliveries are expected before the end of the year.
