Ford has announced a new chassis cab version of its Ranger pick-up.
It comes with a single-cab bodystyle, and in the entry-level XL trim.
The model can provide a base for conversions of up to 3,270kg grow vehicle weight, with a maximum conversion length behind the cab of 2,518mm.
It features a wading depth of up to 800mm, and 237mm of ground clearance before conversion.
Ford says it has worked closely with its QVM converter network to optimise the Ranger chassis cab for a wide range of conversions, including box bodies, tippers and cherry pickers.
A number of upgrades will also be available from Ford’s Special Vehicle Options range, including a trailer tow electrical connector, high-performance batteries, and an interface to link conversions and vehicle signals.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre, 170hp diesel engine, paired to a six-speed manual gearbox.
Selectable four-wheel drive comes as standard.
Orders for the Rangers chassis cab will open in January 2021. Prices are yet to be announced.
