GWM has unveiled a new double-cab pick-up truck for the UK market.

The manufacturer, which previously sold trucks here as Great Wall, says its new POER300 truck features a 2.4-litre, 183hp diesel engine, with 480Nm of torque, and combined fuel economy of 32.7mpg. It comes with nine-speed automatic transmission, and a full-time four-wheel drive system with low-range capability.

The truck has a 1,000kg payload, and a braked towing capacity of 3,500kg.

Its off-road driving capabilities include a 27-degree approach angle, a 25-degree departure angle, and a 230mm ground clearance. Selectable drive modes include Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, and Sand, and there’s an electronically activated rear differential lock.

Interior features include a 12.3in touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, a 7in driver display, and wireless phone charging.

The model will be offered with a choice of Lux, Ultra, and Vanta trim levels. Features with Lux trim include 18in alloy wheels, leatherette seats, keyless entry, and rear parking sensors.

Equipment with Ultra trim includes heated and ventilated seats, ambient lighting, privacy glass, a sunroof, a tailgate step, and a 360-degree camera system.

Further features with Vanta trim include blacked-out exterior trim and wheel arches and black alloy wheels.

Prices, excluding VAT, start at £31,495. Sales begin in September.
