Volkswagen has confirmed UK specs and prices for the new-generation version of its Amarok pick-up truck.

The model, which shares its platform with the new Ford Ranger, will be offered with a choice of four trim levels – Life, Style, PanAmericana, and Aventura.

Standard equipment with Life trim will include 17in alloy wheels, LED headlights, a 10in infotainment screen, and a reversing camera.

Further equipment with Style trim will include silver 18in alloys, a chrome styling bar, black side steps with a chrome insert, a 12in infotainment screen with sat-nav, and a 360-degree camera system.

The PanAmericana trim is designed to focus more on off-road ability, and will feature a rear locking differential and underride guard, along with black 18in alloys and a bumper with black ‘X’ insert.

The range-topping Aventura trim will feature 21in alloys, chrome-plated exterior mirrors and door handles, and a bumper with silver ‘X’ insert.

The Amarok Life will be priced at £33,000 with a 170hp diesel engine, and £34,300 with a 205hp diesel (all prices exclude VAT).

The Amarok Style will be priced at £41,450 with the 205hp diesel, and £43,950 with a 240hp diesel.

The PanAmericana will be priced at £46,200, and the Aventura at £47,000 – both will only be available with the 240hp engine.
