Nextbase has added a new dash cam to its range, which it claimed is the first aimed specifically at commercial vehicle drivers.
The 380GW records 1080p high definition images at 30fps, and comes with a permanent mounting system, and built-in GPS monitoring of location and speed data.
The camera also features an ultra-wide, moveable lens to adapt to different angles of commercial vehicles’ windscreens.
Along with the new camera, the firm has also announced an updated version of its Nextbase App, which allows easy sharing of footage to fleet managers, and a MyVan insurance policy it said is the first to offer a dash cam discount.
Nextbase’s senior business development manager Richard Peak said: “Commercial drivers are the backbone of the UK’s infrastructure and it is vital that they are protected as best they can be whilst on the road.
“In the same vein, companies are starting to come around to their responsibility to give their employees the means to protect themselves and recognise the power of keeping their vehicles on the roads in driving their businesses forward.
“As such we hope that the 380GW and the accompanying MyVan policy can be a springboard to security for businesses up and down the country.
“We passionately believe that the adoption rate of dash cams in the trade will rival the consumer market – and even rival telematics.”
Nextbase claimed the MyVan policy allows fleets to save up to 25% on premiums if 380GWs are installed.
The 380GW is priced at £149 excluding VAT.
