Nissan has boosted the range of its E-NV200 electric van with the introduction of a new 40kW battery.
The manufacturer claimed the plug-in van could now cover 174 miles on the official NEDC test cycle – a 60% improvement on the original version of the electric light van that was launched in 2013.
Nissan claimed the new battery takes up no more space and is no heavier than the previous 24kW version so does not compromise either load space or payload.
The revamped E-NV200 was launched as part of the Nissan Futures event in Oslo, Norway, Europe’s Green Capital for 2019
The manufacturer also unveiled a 7kW home charger that is able to charge EV vehicles to 100% power in five and a half hours – a claimed 70% reduction on previous charging technology – and a 22kW charger for businesses that can charge the e-NV200 in just two hours.
