Utilities company P.N. Daly is said to have seen enhanced fleet safety and reduced costs from installing Ctrack AI dashcams.

The cameras are said to have helped reduce collision rates across the company’s 400-strong van fleet, while contributing to a 5% improvement in claims frequency and a 40% reduction in average claims costs.

The installation includes a forward-facing camera that captures footage of the road ahead, and a driver-facing lens designed to provide a greater understanding of risk and distraction within the vehicle.

P.N. Daly’s head office and local managers have access to video and data of collisions, near-misses and other driving events, while drivers are alerted to any high-risk actions such as mobile device use, not wearing a seatbelt, eating and drinking, and eyes off the road.

The ability to review video evidence is said to have enabled P.N.Daly to streamline its claims process by cutting down on response times and having a greater understanding of what has occurred, contributing to an improved risk profile, which has in turn led to lower insurance premiums.

Meanwhile, the comprehensive reporting capabilities are said to have allowed the company to effectively monitor and address distraction events, instrumental in enhancing driver performance and behaviour.

P.N. Daly contract manager Nik Darby said: “The installation of forward- and driver-facing dash cameras has proven to be an invaluable asset to our operation and our efforts to improve driver performance.

“The positive impact on incident reduction, insurance costs, and overall operational safety cannot be overstated, creating a responsible, secure and more efficient environment for our mobile team.
