The cheapest model in the range will be the 75hp 1.4-litre petrol. Next up will be the 68hp 1.4-litre diesel at £8,675, with the 90hp 1.6-litre diesel topping off the line-up at £9,295.

The two diesels use HDi engines with common rail injection. Petrol or diesel, all models come with a five-speed manual gearbox.

With a 1.1m3 cargo bay that's 1,335mm long, and based on the three-door 207 car, 207 Van can handle a payload of up to 450kg.

Driver, passenger and side airbags all come as standard as do driver and passenger seats that are adjustable for height and electric front windows. ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution is standard too, as is remote central locking with deadlocks, a steering column that's adjustable for reach and rake, and a radio/CD player.

Options include Electronic Stability Programme (£298), air-conditioning (£426), a five-disc CD autochanger (£196) and a full-length load cover (£47).

Average combined cycle fuel economy figures of almost 63mpg are promised for the diesels, which both fall into insurance group 4E. The petrol variant is in category 3E.

207 Van is up for grabs solely in white — pity there's not a bit more variety — with a black/grey cab interior.
