The buoyant condition of the used LCV market has been demonstrated by the appreciation of a Renault Trafic van sold twice in two years, according to Shoreham Vehicle Auctions (SVA).
It said the van was sold for £9,000 in April 2019, in good condition with around 30,000 miles on the clock.
The same van then came up for sale again in May 2021, still in good condition but having covered 53,000 miles, and went for £11,600 – a 26% increase.
SVA said this demonstrated the huge spike in LCV values currently seen by the market, with high levels of demand and a shortage of stock.
MD Alex Wright said: “The pandemic has hugely affected the LCV market and as you can see our Renault Trafic van was deemed to be worth more money with a higher mileage on the clock and 24 months older.
“With the recent semiconductor shortage and the uncertainty still surrounding the lockdown, the trend of demand exceeding supply will continue through 2021”
