The average price of used LCVs sold at auction increased in June, according to BCA.

The remarketing company said the £8,188 average was a 2.6% increase compared with May, and a 4.4% increase compared with June 2024.

BCA said performance against guide price also rose, by nearly two percentage points to 103.3%.

The company said condition remained very important to buyers, with even higher mileage, older vehicles able to attract a lot of attention if their condition was acceptable for retail.

BCA UK COO Stuart Pearson said: “We continue to very work closely with sellers to ensure stock is presented in the best possible condition to attract buyers and invest in both our mechanical and cosmetic LCV preparation services to deliver even more affordable and effective solutions for customers.

“The latest version of BCA’s LCV grading process remains a key component supporting the drive to ensure that more vehicles are presented in the optimal condition to support first time sales.”

“While we are in a long-term cycle of strong demand for used LCVs alongside a reduced supply of prime three-five year old vehicles from fleet and lease sources, it is important to ensure that we constantly adapt to changing market conditions.

“BCA has continued to win and retain substantial levels of business from LCV vendors meaning the choice on offer at BCA is unmatched anywhere else in the industry.”
