The average price of used LCVs sold at auction was up by 11% year-on-year in October, according to BCA.

The remarketing company said the £8,325 average was also the second-highest seen this year, although it was down by £135 compared with September.

BCA said October’s sold volume of more than 9,700 LCVs was the highest seen since March this year, while performance against guide price remained more than 7% ahead.

BCA UK COO Stuart Pearson said: “We have experienced continued strong levels of demand for light commercial vehicles this year, with average values during September and October being ahead of anything we have seen for over 18 months.

“Buyer engagement has reached new record levels and as we move into the peak season for the home delivery sector, there is every expectation that demand for used LCVs will remain robust and competition should ensure pricing stability between now and the end of the year.

“With new LCV sales remaining depressed according to the latest data reported by the SMMT, the used LCVs on offer at BCA provide the choice and value that SMEs and sole traders need when it comes to sourcing their next commercial vehicle.”
