The average value of used vans sold at auction in July was down by 4.6% month-on-month, but up by 5.5% year-on-year, according to BCA.
The auction company said the new average of £7,817 came as performance against guide price expectations rose by nearly two percentage points to 105.6%, while sold volumes were at the highest level since March.
BCA said the price movement continued a theme seen in previous months.
BCA UK COO Stuart Pearson said: “In spite of the well documented challenges with new LCV registrations, BCA saw a further uplift in LCVs being offered through our online sales program in July, and whilst rising volumes and the onset of the summer holiday season could have seriously impacted average values, the current marketplace simply remains very hungry for stock.
“Sales have been performing exceptionally well, with high levels of interest, and very competitive bidding driving strong conversion rates across our seven-day-a-week programme.
“August has got off to a very good start and there is every expectation that the prevailing conditions will continue in the weeks ahead. Even with the September plate change not that far away, we still expect to see a busy trading environment into the autumn.”
